Dr. Layal Mansour Ichrakieh holds a Ph.D in Macroeconomics, specialized in monetary and financial economics in indebted and dollarized countries, from the University Lumière Lyon 2, and she has accomplished a Post-doctorate in Financial Economics at the American University of Beirut.

Dr. Mansour is currently a lecturer of economics at the Lebanese American University and the University Saint Joseph, in Beirut Lebanon. She is also a Guest Speaker at George Washington University in USA, every summer since 2016.

Prior to that, she started her teaching experience (2009-2010-2011) in University Lyon 1,
University Lyon 2, and University Lyon 3- France.

Dr Mansour Ichrakieh served as an economic advisor to the minister of Labor in 2011-2012 recruited by the World Bank. She also worked as an economic consultant with The World Bank and the UN-ESCWA-Beirut, Lebanon.

Her research papers are focused in monetary policy exchange rate, dollarization, financial crises, geopolitical risks and time series analysis and they are published in reputable academic journals and presented in several international conferences such as the American Economic Association (ASSA) conference, the Western Economic Association International Conference (WEAI), the World Bank MENA seminar series in Washington DC-USA.

Layal Mansour was the leader to construct a financial stress index for Lebanon in 2018 that reveals all hidden information about the Lebanese financial market such as the banking sector, the stock market, and the exchange rate & debt markets. She had presented through a press conference a law proposal to the Parliament; an economic proposal to change the exchange rate regime for Lebanon: The Currency Board Arrangement, as the only solution to solve the current currency crisis.
